Using AnyWare
Many of our training sessions use software that is not freely available. Several computer labs on campus have most or all of these programs installed on the lab machines; you can use this link to check which software is available in which labs. Software that is not on the lab machines can be accessed via Illinois AnyWare.
Who can use AnyWare?
Currently, students and faculty can use AnyWare for instructional purposes; staff are not currently able to access it.
In Fall 2026, AnyWare will soon be made available to researchers across campus, including staff researchers.
Once AnyWare for Research launches, the Illinois Computes request form will be updated to include an option for Illinois AnyWare for Research, and researchers will be able to submit a request to Illinois Computes to gain access.
